LIFT Projects Co. Specify Crimeshield Gates For New Build

The LIFT Project in association with The Design Bureau Architects and Laing O’Rourke specified Crimeshield to advise on security for a Flagship NHS Clinic in Derby

Here the challenge had changed as different areas of the building would offer different security issues and would need a variety of solutions. Crimeshields manufacturing and installation capabilities were the key to being able to offer solutions to each areas individual needs.

The front entrance doors were under a large canopied area and were viewed as vunerable to petty vandalism aswell as an obvious point to break in to the premises. A large electric roller shutter was installed to effectively close off the area at night or at weekends to give a strong first line of defence but be able to be completely rolled out of sight during opening times, reducing the visual impact to the clients of the clinic.

A large glass wall had been designed on the rear off the building but due to the fact that this elevation fronted on to a local park, damage from stone throwing and/or other vandalism was feared. The Crimeshield Barriers were used to entirely cover this glass walling, therefore protecting it from the vandalism 100% of the time, but giving minimal impact on the visual appearance of the building. The perforated nature of the Crimeshield Barrier meant that people walking dogs or going about there normal business in the park would hardly notice the barrier and also the clients and staff inside would equally view through the barrier and not notice the barrier at all.

Around the individual surgery rooms, the best option for securing the windows was the Crimeshield Retractable Gates. These would give high levels of security when closed whilst allowing the doctor or nurse in the room to open them to give a more relaxed feel to the surgery. With multipoint locking systems and hardened steel rolers and cross members, these gates would offer excellent levels of security against breakin for many years to come.
