London Barfly Secured
The Barfly in Camden London is famous for being one of the UK’s top live music venues promoting some of the best up and coming bands.
Famous bands such as the Stereophonics played Barfly several times in their early, formative years, as did the likes of Death in Vegas, Feeder, Coldplay, Muse, Doves, Electric 6, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and of course Blur and Oasis.
Due to its popularity the venue was moved to a larger premises in 2000 and the Falcon pub found it hard to continue and several years later closed and fell into a sorry state for such a world renowed venue.
In 2010 the building was bought by a London property developer and turned into luxury appartments and life was bought back to this once famous building.
Crimeshield Midlands were approached to see if we could secure the ground floor rooms without taking away any of the character of this much loved building.
On surveying we found that one of the flats had a bedroom facing onto the road at the front, we looked at installing security gates so that during the day these could be opened and there would be no obvious sign of any security products. Unfortunatley the customer wanted a more shut down option with it being a bedroom. We came up with the idea of fitting an electrically operated internal roller shutter that would blend in to its surroundings.
Just a week later we installed a roller shutter in the bedroom and a retractable gate in the front office.
The customer was so happy with what we had achieved they recomended us to their neighbour and we install at their appartment in the next few days.
This shows that security products can be installed to blend in with its surroundings even in the most classic of buildings.
