Nottingham School

Persistent vandalism was causing a school in Nottingham immense problems. A public pathway that runs through a park adjacent to the school was giving a base to youths who were using the windows in the school as target practice (as the picture shows).

With a massive investment of funds to have new windows installed, the vandalism problem could not continue, so the local council approached Crime Shield (Midlands) Ltd to secure the windows.

Crime Shield (Midlands) Ltd liased with the school and window manufacturer, and were on site to install the “Crime Shield” barriers over the windows as soon as they had been installed.

As can be seen from the pictures, there is no negative impact from the outside and the loss of light within the hall is negligable. The school are rightly impressed with the “Crime Shield” system as it has returned to them not only full use of the hall but also the play area outside which had previously been covered with broken glass.

More and more schools are realising that security products do not have to be an eyesore but rather like the “Crime Shield” barrier it can breath new life into a building, enhancing the property aswell as protecting it.
