A NHS Secure Unit needed advice on how to secure patients windows to deter escape or passage of contraband items in and out of the unit, but still allow the windows to open for ventilation.

The built in free flow of air through the “Crimeshield” product, with the flexibility in the installation arrangement, meant that it was the ideal choice for this particual problem.

The barrier was essentially brought away from the window using 200mm standoff angle. This angle was fixed securely using the “Crimeshield” dedicated security scews, thus protecting against attack from inside or out.

The barrier was then rivitted to the standoff angle on all sides, forming a secure area within which the patient could get ventilation for the room whilst giving the window security that was needed.
